well-respected physician. Despite his uncommon appearance,
steady hands, exceptional knowledge, and years of

Dr. Banias has a strong and trusted reputation for guiding
challenging pregnancies toward success. He works with
patients diagnosed with chronic hypertension, diabetes
mellitus, multiple gestation, maternal cardiac disease,
maternal age under 16 or over 35 years, and/or infertility
patients.
Dr. Banias's credentials include receiving a
Bachelor of Science in Biology at the Citadel, a Masters
of Science in Human Physiology at the University of
Southern California, and Medical Doctorate at the Medical
University of South Carolina, Dr. Banias did his residency
at Wright State University and his Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He is a
Board Certified OB-GYN and Fellowship Trained in
Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Currently practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology and
conveniently located at 3075 Governor's Place, Dr. Banias
and his friendly, knowledgeable staff treat each patient

Within
his practice, he has all of the resources he needs to properly
evaluate
each and
every individual patient's case. He offers diabetic counseling,
genetic counseling, amniocentesis, and state-of-the-art 4-D
ultrasound. The images provided by this high-tech equipment are
detailed beyond anything available up to this time.
Many times when a patient views an ultrasound image, exactly
what they are seeing is very confusing. Even when a professional
sonographer points out the hands and fingers it is often
difficult for the patient to distinguish. GE Medical Systems
provides an ultrasound machine called the Voluson 730 that
eliminates this frequent confusion. The Voluson 730 produces
Real Time 4D and 3D imaging providing unmatched images of fetal
anatomy and internal organs allowing patients to understand the
ultrasound images. This improves the level of care offered by
Dr. Banias' office
Enhanced volume measurements and visualization in interventional
procedures allow the area of interest to be seen in three planes
in real time. The images produced from this machine are
amazingly clear. Many patients can tell within the first few
months not only their baby is healthy but appears to have Dad's
nose and Mom's lips. The images can be printed on thermal color
paper, making the first photograph of the child a precious
keepsake item. The machine also has the capability of producing
VHS tapes and CD-ROM images. This service is generously included
for all of Dr. Banias's patients. If other expectant parents
wish to receive the 3D/4D images they may do so at their own
expense.
Dr. Banias services regular OB patients and GYN
patients. He is a prime referral source for ultrasound services
and all types of OB/GYN procedures. His individual attention to
